Openings at CENTER FOR TURBULENCE CONTROL
Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in the fields of fluid mechanics, fluid-structure interactions, aero-acoustics, big data and artificial intelligence
Center for Turbulence Control (CTC) was established in 2011, with a view to pursuing excellence in scientific research that are related to the engineering applications and economic development of China. CTC offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs where the big data and artificial intelligence are incorporated, first in the country, into conventional fluid mechanics and energy engineering curriculum. CTC recruits outstanding members from all over the world in various research fields, including turbulence, flow-induced vibration, flow control, aeroacoustics, big data and artificial intelligence. The appointee will be required to:
(a) teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
(b) conduct research that leads to publications in top-tier refereed journals and awards of research grants;
(c) undertake research, program/curriculum development and administration;
(d) supervise student projects and theses;
(e) engage in industrial and scholarly research/consultancy activities;
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the University, School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, and the Director of CTC.
Applicants should have a PhD degree in a relevant discipline, strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and are expected to have relevant post-qualification experience and an excellent track record of research, preferably but not limited to fluid mechanics, fluid-structure interactions, aero-acoustics, big data and artificial intelligence.
The pay package is internationally competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience (as a guideline, starting from more than 300k RMB per year for Assistant Professor to 1.2 million RMB per year for senior full Professor). Initial appointment for Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor will be on a fixed-term contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
